Scrap Tire News

Going Digital

Venerable Publication & Long-Term Client

Scrap Tire News is one of Gigantic Media’s earliest and longest-lasting partnerships. We worked with this venerable 33-year-old recycling news organization to create their initial digital presence in 2010, and have continued to provide them with graphic design, copy editing and layout support services ever since.

Two of our biggest responsibilities to this client are 1) compiling and coordinating the layout of their monthly print publication, and 2) designing the cover of their annual directory every year since 2010 – both of which mean meeting tight deadlines. We also work with 3rd party vendors to disseminate their print media via digital channels concurrent with publication.

As STN's digital partner we've consulted on their transformation from a purely print publication to a digital powerhouse.

From their first website back in 2010 to their most recent CMS-enabled site, we've been STN's exclusive designer & developer.

Graphic Design

From their logo to the covers of their yearly Users Directory, we're proud to have been able to offer our design chops.

While it's not something that we specialize in, STN needed layout help with their monthly newsletter & we've been happy to deliver.

Recently, Scrap Tire News has engaged Gigantic Media to transition their organization to an entirely digital experience. This has meant the complete redesign of their web-presence including development of a custom website that would mimic the feel of a magazine while being aesthetically modern and an update to their brand image complete with new logo and all graphical assets.

We are also responsible for their entire social media presence, including content creation, scheduling and sentiment management, as well as the oversight of their blog, which involves coordinating with authors, SEO and copy editing.

This project presented the unique challenge of how to display large amounts of content in a way that was accessible to existing readers and advertisers, but it also presented benefits to their traditional way of doing business. We are now able to provide robust analytics to their advertisers, concretely track the impact of each publication and offer highly-targeted marketing to their niche audience.

It’s always a treat to be brought in to a project at the start – as opposed to after the fact – as it allows us to conceive of a holistic marketing strategy. For Scrap Tire News, we were able to advise on when they should make the transition to digital, how they would accomplish it and be there every step of the way. Working in this manner sets any project up to be a huge success.
